Statement
I am interested in creating work that is about relationships and touch. The physical material (fabric and yarn) and the subject simultaneously allow this to occur. My paintings and sculptures are both sweet and humorous in their use of color and subject. As the work becomes less literal I think that there is a way that it becomes more personal and its potential mystery is more evident.

I am motivated by the desire to see something that vacillates between recognition of image and readability of form through color. The yarn and the fabric begin to transform as I find the means to push them from their sources—both physical and contextual. They allow me to find edges and pressures that serve as the basis for the image and material. The transparency of the fabric creates line and form that set up relationships to the material itself and to the image.
